Each year, Minneapolis Public Schools develops a budget. Our fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. The budget for the following year is approved by our Board of Education typically at their June meeting.

This year, we are using a methodology we call Priority Based Budgeting to develop department budgets. You can learn more about Priority Based Budgeting here.
Each school is given a detailed budget allocation. Depending on the makeup of the school, allocations can look very different at schools with similar enrollments but different student bodies. You can learn more about school budgets here.
